Lean Six Sigma
Villanova University
Lean Six Sigma is a vital part of Six Sigma. The dimension of Lean Six Sigma attacks inefficiencies and wastes caused by defects, overproduction, and extra processing. Lean Six Sigma techniques help professionals lead successfully in both service and manufacturing enterprises. This 8 week program provides managers and professionals with valuable skills, which can be used immediately to analyze unit or company performance.
Example of Major Topic Areas: The marriage of Lean and Six Sigma, Customer focus, DMAIC approach. the basic terminology of Lean/Six Sigma (LSS), Theory of lean, Theory of constraints, Pull systems. Visualizing waste, Seven forms of waste, Learn the difference between a hidden factory and a visual factory, Value Stream Analysis, Lean transformation, Process improvements that increase efficiency, Kaizen events, and Quick changeover.

Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB)
School for The Center of Quality Excellence
Southern Polytechnic University in Atlanta Georgia
The fundamental objective of the Six Sigma methodology is the implementation of a measurement-based strategy that focuses on process improvement and variation reduction through the application of Six Sigma improvement projects. This is accomplished through the use of the Six Sigma methodology: DMAIIC. The Six Sigma DMAIC process (define, measure, analyze, implement, improve, control) is an improvement system for existing processes falling below specification and looking for incremental improvement. It can also be employed if a current process requires more than just incremental improvement. This certification is attained by completing the following: (1) one week intensive training program and (2) passing a comprehensive examination

Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Network Certification
Service Point in Orlando Florida
This course provides the foundation for the entire ATM Design and Planning curriculum. It focuses on establishing the understanding of ATM technology concepts to provide students with a solid understanding of ATM technology. Students learn to identify proper placement of ATM technology and factors the will influence the design of an ATM network. Concepts including ATM NSAP addressing, UNI / IISP / PNNI signaling, cell format, circuit creation, quality of service (QOS), Classical IP, LANE and MPOA will be covered, and practice design skills using case studies. ATM processes detailed will also be demonstrated and tested for certification using vendor equipment in a real world hands-on lab environment.

IRIX Failsafe
Silicon Graphics ( SGI )
IRIS FailSafe is the next generation “High Availability 24x7x365” solution for mission critical services that enables applications and services to be highly available. This course will provide instruction for the automation of application and hardware fail overs from one system in the cluster to another. In combination with a RAID, SAN or mirrored disk configuration, a FailSafe cluster will show resilience from any single point of failure and acts as insurance against unplanned outages. It also provides facility to minimize downtime due to planned outages by selectively isolating systems for routine maintenance. This solution is scalable to include multiple systems in the cluster, thus bringing the power of distributed computing, enhanced throughput, as well as high service availability together.

Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB)
School for The Center of Quality Excellence
Southern Polytechnic University in Atlanta Georgia
Effectively apply Six Sigma methodology and lead teams through process improvements that identify and eliminate defects and waste and, thereby, improve operational costs and customer satisfaction. This certification is attained by completing the following: (1) three week intensive training program, (2) passing a comprehensive examination including six sigma green belt knowledge, (3) initiate and complete a real world project following the six sigma methodology, (4) create a project binder that documents all aspects of the real world project and the statistical results and finally (5) submit the project binder, present it to the six sigma review board and answer all subsequent questions until completion. The six sigma strategy involves a series of steps that are specifically designed to lead the organization through process improvements. These 6 major steps are: Definition- Identify critical process characteristics. Measurement- document the existing process, perform necessary measurements, and estimate the process capability. Analysis- Analyze of performance measures to determine the amount of improvement that might be possible to make the critical quality characteristic "best in class." Improvement- This phase guides the organization to specific product characteristics that must be improved to achieve the performance and financial goals. Implement - Once this is done the characteristics are diagnosed to reveal the major sources of variation. Key process variables are identified by way of statistically designed experiments. Control- Document and monitor the new process conditions via statistical process control methods.
